Rev. peggy: Statement on Palestine
The horror of life in Palestine right now is nearly incomprehensible.
Fear and anger have transformed Israel, allowing the government to justify what has become a massacre of tens of thousands of people.
Community Church of New York is calling for a full cease fire. At the same time, we are imploring global leaders to fund the humanitarian aid now desperately needed to provide emergency food, shelter, and healthcare for Palestinians in Gaza, where over half a million people are now described by the United Nations as being just one step away from famine. We are also urging the immediate release of Israeli hostages.
Our faith cannot abide violence.
